Romblon State University (RSU) filmmakers proudly represented the MIMAROPA Region in the PelikulAgraryo 2025 Central Film Festival Awards organized by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR). The awarding ceremony was held on October 6 at Novotel Manila Araneta Center, Quezon City.

The event recognized outstanding short films created by students nationwide that depict the real-life experiences of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) and Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organizations (ARBOs).

RSUโ€™s official entry, Busol et Kinabuhi, was chosen as MIMAROPAโ€™s official entry under ARBO category to the national level, alongside the film Isagani from Palawan State University.

The RSU team from the College of Computing Multimedia Arts and Digital Innovation -composed of filmmakers John Victor Dela Torre, Mac Angel Capidos, Xiane Kyra Hayohay, and Althea Gabon, under the mentorship of Ms. Charevel F. Ferrancoโ€”earned nine nominations in various categories, including Best Director, Best in Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Music, Best Sound, and Best in Production Design, among others.

Through this meaningful experience, RSU expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the Department of Agrarian Reformโ€“Romblon for the opportunity to collaborate in amplifying the voices of our unsung heroesโ€”our farmers. This platform not only showcases the creativity of RSU filmmakers but also honors the enduring spirit and stories of those who cultivate the lifeblood of our nation.
