Center for Alumni Relations and Employment Services

The Center for Alumni Relations and Employment Services (CARES) of Romblon State University (RSU) is a support service unit under the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and Services (OVPSAS). It is dedicated to fostering strong alumni relations, enhancing employability, and ensuring that graduates remain connected and competitive in their professional pursuits.

Objectives

The CARES Office aims to:

  • Strengthen and sustain lifelong linkages between RSU and its alumni.
  • Support student and graduate employability through career development programs.
  • Build partnerships with government agencies, industries, and employers for job placement and training.
  • Generate accurate alumni and employability data for accreditation, SUC leveling, and institutional planning.
  • Promote alumni involvement in university initiatives and community development.

Programs and Services
CARES implements initiatives designed to connect alumni, empower students, and support graduates as they begin their careers. These include:

  • Alumni Engagement Services – assisting alumni associations in reunions, implementing alumni mentoring, featuring alumni spotlight stories, and strengthening local and international alumni chapters.
  • Alumni Support Services – managing the alumni database, publishing and distributing yearbooks, and assisting with alumni-related requests and documentation.
  • Career Development Programs – conducting job orientations, labor education sessions, and workshops to enhance employability skills.
  • Employment Services – facilitating job fairs, industry linkages, and pre-employment assistance with government agencies and employers.
  • Graduate Employability Survey – conducting tracer studies and surveys to generate vital data for accreditation, SUC leveling, curriculum development, and institutional growth.

Alumni Relations Office

The Alumni Relations Unit of CARES serves as the primary link between Romblon State University and its graduates. It is dedicated to sustaining lifelong connections, celebrating alumni achievements, and fostering a spirit of loyalty and service. The unit assists alumni associations in organizing reunions, recognition programs, and other activities that strengthen engagement. It also manages the alumni database, features alumni through spotlights, and facilitates mentoring opportunities for students. By supporting both local and international alumni chapters, the unit ensures that RSU’s alumni network remains active, united, and committed to contributing to the university and wider community.

Employment Services Office

The Employment Services Unit of CARES focuses on preparing students and graduates for meaningful careers. It implements career development programs such as job orientations, labor education, and employability workshops. The unit also facilitates job fairs, builds linkages with industries and government agencies, and provides pre-employment assistance to ensure a smooth transition from campus to the workplace. In addition, it conducts the Graduate Employability Survey and tracer studies, producing vital data for accreditation, SUC leveling, curriculum improvement, and institutional planning. Through these initiatives, the unit helps RSU graduates remain career-ready, competitive, and responsive to the demands of the labor market.
