Romblon State University (RSU) formalized a partnership with the Rotary Club of Manila Binondo Prime through a Memorandum of Agreement aimed at strengthening early childhood care, family empowerment, volunteerism, and university-community engagement through the RSU Family Empowerment Center (FEC).
RSU President Dr. Merian P. Catajay-Mani and Rotary Club of Manila Binondo Prime Impact Creating President Vilma Morato-Lim signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.
Witnessing the signing were Maria Josefa O. Punongbayan, Focal Person of Project PAG-IBIG, and Rhowel Velasco, succeeding President of the Rotary Club of Manila Binondo Prime.
The partnership brings together RSU and Rotary Manila Binondo Prime in advancing programs under the three pillars of the Family Empowerment Center: Child Care, Parent Care, and University Care.
The FEC serves as a university-affiliated hub supporting children, parents, student-parents, solo parents, university personnel, and vulnerable families.
Under the Child Care pillar, Rotary Manila Binondo Prime will support learning sessions, reading activities, play-based engagement, arts, values formation, and other developmental activities for children.
The organization also pledges support for health and well-being through the provision of hot meals for six months under the program “An HOUR with the Kids,” an engagement activity for children and parents under the University’s Family Empowerment Center.
The partnership also extends support to parents. Through the Parent Care pillar, RSU and Rotary will pursue activities related to parenting and family strengthening, financial literacy, livelihood orientation, entrepreneurship awareness, leadership, mentoring, and personal development.
President Mani expressed her appreciation to Morato-Lim and the Rotary Club of Manila Binondo Prime for strengthening their engagement with RSU and supporting programs centered on children and families.
With the agreement set to remain in effect for five years, RSU and the Rotary Club of Manila Binondo Prime will work toward sustained programs whose benefits extend from the child to the family and the wider community.
Through partnerships grounded in service and shared responsibility, RSU continues to strengthen the Family Empowerment Center as a space where children receive opportunities to learn and grow, parents receive support to move forward, and the University and its partners work together toward stronger families and communities.
