Romblon State University (RSU) continues to strengthen its global standing after advancing from the 1501+ bracket to the 1001–1500 ranking range in the Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026.
The latest results place RSU among more than 1,603 higher education institutions worldwide recognized for their contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reflecting the University’s growing role in advancing sustainability through education, research, extension, innovation, and community engagement.
Among the University’s strongest areas of performance were SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG 15: Life on Land, all earning rankings within the 401–600 bracket.
RSU also recorded strong results across several other impact areas, including SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, each placing within the 601–800 range.
Additional recognition was received in SDG 14: Life Below Water (401+), SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation (601+), SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (801+), and SDGs 3, 4, 5, and 8 covering Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education, Gender Equality, and Decent Work and Economic Growth, all within the 801–1000 bracket.
This milestone reflects RSU’s sustained commitment to translating institutional goals into measurable impact and meaningful outcomes for communities and society. It also highlights the collaborative efforts of offices, campuses, faculty, personnel, students, and partners across the University.
The achievement was supported through the leadership of the International Relations Office (IRO), particularly the Global Reputation Unit headed by Mr. Jayson Reeves C. Mani, whose initiatives continue to strengthen the University’s international visibility and global engagement.
As RSU continues to expand its reach and deepen its contribution to sustainable development, the University remains committed to becoming globally recognized while staying responsive to local needs and creating lasting impact for future generations.
