Romblon State University takes another step toward a healthier and more connected workplace with the launch of Move More, Live More, a wellness initiative led by the Sports Development Program Office (SDPO) under the leadership of Alphee F. Lachica, Director of SDPO.

Designed for the entire RSU workforce, the program aims to bridge gaps in the physical well-being, mental health, and social engagement of faculty and non-teaching employees by creating meaningful opportunities to move, connect, and enjoy an active lifestyle together. The initiative is led by SDPO in collaboration with the Bachelor of Physical Education (BPED) program, Physical Education Student Society (PESS), Health Services Office, and Guidance and Counseling Services Office.

The program officially launched on August 20, 2026, bringing together the University’s top officials, faculty members, and non-teaching personnel for an afternoon of movement and camaraderie.

In his message, Engr. Kenreid Nuel F. Dela Vega, Director of the Student Development and Services Office and OIC, in behalf of Dr. Gianinna Elaine M. Labicane, Vice President for Student Affairs and Services, emphasized that the program welcomes everyone, saying, “Whether we are young or young at heart, whether we are active in sports or simply looking for a fun way to stay healthy, there is a place for everyone in this program.”

University President Dr. Merian P. Catajay-Mani also underscored the importance of caring for oneself as part of caring for others, “How can you love others if you don’t start loving yourself and your body?”

Adding energy to the launch was the lively Hataw Sayaw, led by BPED students and PESS, setting the tone for an ongoing wellness journey.

Twice a month, every Thursday afternoon, Move More, Live More will bring RSU employees together through Larong Lahi, badminton, volleyball, basketball, and pickleball friendly sporting activities. More than just getting active, the program is an invitation to make wellness a shared part of everyday university life.
