The Office of Media and Public Affairs takes charge of the University's public information and community relations program to sustain and build a strong relationship with its various stakeholders, including the community, the government, and the students. It also provides timely and relevant services to special events motivated towards exhibiting appreciation and support to the University's programs and projects.
In January 2021, Romblon State University marked another milestone. Along with the commencement of the new administration is the creation of the newly established office through the initiatives of Dr. Merian P. Catajay -Mani. The Office of Media and Public Affairs was created to take charge of the University’s Public Information and Community Relations program as mandated in RA 7079, otherwise known as the Campus Journalism Act of 1991.
OMPA is one of the established offices under the Office of the University President. Its essential function is to sustain and build a strong relationship with its various stakeholders by ensuring that vital information of the University programs and projects and its milestones and achievements are available through multiple media platforms. Guided by the University Ten Point Agenda, the office continues to fulfill its mandate of building the institutional strength and reputation of the University. Through its three units: the Public Relations and Communications Unit, the Digital Media and Content Creation Unit, and the Multimedia Production and Technical Services Unit.

Global Citizenship Education Unit
The Global Citizenship Education (GCED) Unit advances the universityโs commitment to transformative education by embedding global perspectives across its programs and activities. It designs and implements initiatives that develop learnersโ sense of social responsibility, cultural respect, and active engagement in addressing pressing local and global challenges. The unit also serves as a center for collaboration with stakeholders and partner institutions, creating meaningful opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to participate in activities that promote sustainability, peace, human rights, and intercultural understanding, thereby strengthening the universityโs role in shaping globally minded and socially responsible citizens.
