Call for Abstracts for the 3rd National Research, Extension, Development and Innovation Congress
We are delighted to announce that the Call for Abstracts for the 3rd National REDi Congress is now open! With the theme: "RERIvolution: Human and Al Synergies for a Gender- Responsive Philippines", the congress reflects the growing importance of integrating human expertise with Al and other advanced technologies to address pressing societal challenges, including gender inequality. The event will explore how Al can be leveraged to support gender-responsive policies, research, and extension work, contributing to a more inclusive and equitable society.
This virtual conference aims to unite university faculty, teachers, graduate students, and experts and acknowledge scholarly interactions, knowledge exchange, research and development, and capability-building activities/projects in the new normal. The event is open to SUCs/HEIs, research institutions, government and non-government agencies, graduate students and postgraduate researchers, and professionals.

Technovators Hack Gold in the MIMAROPA HackforGov 2024
RSU's NULL_BYT3S from the College of Computing, Multimedia Arts and Digital Innovation takes home gold, after winning against MIMAROPA SUC teams in the recently concluded MIMAROPA HackforGov competition held at Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
The said event was hosted by the DICT-MIMAROPA on September 4-5, 2024.Congratulations to the winning team composed of BSIT students, Neil Harvey Min̈ano, Dave Cajucom, Charles dela Austria, Van Glenndon Enad with their supportive coach Mr. Ruel Fallesgon, faculty member.
This competition urges participants to confront genuine cyber security obstacles while educating students on the significance of cyber security, offering them practical exposure to thwarting virtual threats.

Romblon State University and Marikina Polytechnic College (MPC) have strengthened their ties by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on August 26, 2024. The formal signing took place at the Dusit Thani Manila Hotel during the 8th Association of Universities in Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) Forum on Leadership and Value-Driven Schemes for Higher Education Development.

Romblon State University actively participates in the 8th Association of Universities in Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) Forum on Leadership and Value-Driven Schemes for Higher Education Development, happening today at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Manila.
The forum, a collaborative effort organized by AUAAP in cooperation with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Nims University, and Masters’ Institute of Development Academy Seminary (MIDAS), brought together university leaders and educators from across the Asia-Pacific region.
The event covers a range of crucial topics centered on leadership and value-driven approaches in higher education. Discussions include the impact of university digitization on leadership, strategies for integrating value-driven approaches to foster sustainable development, and the evolving roles of higher education leaders. Additional topics focused on university rankings, internationalization, and visibility strategies that enhance institutional recognition and promotion. These discussions provide a comprehensive overview of the challenges and opportunities facing universities in the Asia-Pacific region today.

Congratulations also to the Institute of Criminal Justice Education of San Agustin Campus for producing a new breed of Registered Criminologists and for surmounting the national passing rate of 48% with the passing rate of 51.81% for first takers.
Romblon State University Embarks on Successful Partnership Mission to Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada
Romblon State University has taken a significant step towards internationalization with its successful partnership mission to Dalhousie University's Faculty of Agriculture in Nova Scotia, Canada last July 13-22, 2024, wherein they benchmarked smart agriculture practices with the main objective of establishing RSU as a center of excellence in the field of Agriculture.
The delegation was composed of Hon. Congressman Eleandro Jesus “Budoy” F. Madrona; Hon. Mayor Lisette M. Arboleda; RSU President Merian P. Catajay Mani; VP Tomas T. Faminial; VP Emelyn F. RSU inks MOU with Dalhousie University to Strengthen Smart Agriculture Collaboration
In a significant move to advance smart agriculture and foster international collaboration, Romblon State University and the Dalhousie University – Faculty of Agriculture inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) last July 19, 2024, at Dalhousie University's Halifax Campus. The MOU was signed by RSU President, Dr. Merian P. Catajay Mani and Mr. Matt Hebb, Vice President of the Government and Global Relations at Dalhousie University.
Witnessing the momentous occasion were Congressman Eleandro Jesus F. Madrona, Representative of the Lone District of Romblon, and Her Excellency Maria Andrelita S. Austria, Ambassador of the Philippines to Canada, along with other representatives from RSU, Dalhousie University, and the Nova Scotia - Office of Intergovernmental Affairs.
This MOU marks a new chapter in the ongoing collaboration between RSU and Dalhousie University, focusing initially on the field of smart agriculture. The agreement outlines a commitment from both institutions to cooperate in the development of smart agriculture initiatives at RSU and the province of Romblon at large.

The Romblon State University is proud to announce a remarkable achievement, having been included among the top performing universities in the 2024 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI)!
In the hybrid awarding ceremony held during the 4th HLU Conference in Franklin University, Switzerland earlier today, RSU was announced as one of the Top 100 universities across three different categories: 24th for Industrial Application, 29th for Generative AI Application, and 33rd for Symbol and Promotion. Overall, RSU ranked 261st among 1,072 other Higher Educations Institutions worldwide who participated in WURI 2024.
This is a significant accomplishment as RSU's debut into participating in international rankings, and is a testament of the university's commitment to establishing a strong reputation on a global scale.

We are thrilled to celebrate Liu Kzean Fabregas, a Senior High School student at RSU Laboratory Science High School, for winning the "People's Choice Awars" of the 2024 Capture the Heart in Health Research Photo Contest (General Public Category) organized by the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD) in its 42nd Anniversary Celebration.
