Romblon State University implements Single-Use Plastics Reduction Policy

February 27, 2024 – Romblon State University has implemented a new sustainability initiative aimed at reducing single-use plastics across its campuses and activities. Announced on February 27, 2024, this policy requires all employees and workers to minimize their use of disposable plastic items such as bottles, bags, cups, wrappers, utensils, and straws. The university is encouraging the adoption of more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives as part of its commitment to environmental stewardship.

Faculty members are tasked with raising awareness among students and promoting participation in this green campaign. To underscore the seriousness of this effort, the unnecessary use of single-use plastics will be considered a violation of office rules, in line with the 2017 Rules on Administrative Cases in Civil Service.
