The Provincial Government of Romblon recently joined forces with the Romblon State University Human Resource Management Office in the successful conduct of the (PRIME-HRM) Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management. Ms. Charito M. Gascon, Head of RSU-HRM, and Ms. Jeuel C. Sespee, Team Leader of PGR, led this benchmarking initiative. The collaborative effort took place on July 5, 2023, at the RSU Board Room, where participants delved into the university’s best practices and its pursuit of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification.

University President Merian P. Catajay-Mani, Chief Administrative Officer Glenn Nio M. Sartillo, VP for Administration and Finance Dr. Tomas T. Faminial, and Student Representative Mr. John Kelly F. Madeja, were present to share their areas of expertise in achieving excellence in their respective fields.

The event’s focal point was drafting policies for PRIME-HRM’s four core systems: Recruitment, Selection, and Placement; Learning and Development; Performance Management; and Rewards and Recognition. In addition, the University’s Evidence Requirements (ER), submitted to The Civil Service Commission (CSC), were discussed in detail.

With its sights set on sustainable success, the benchmarking activity is a vital step forward. As the field of HRM continues to gain prominence, organizations that embrace these practices are poised to lead the way in the ever-evolving HR landscape.
