The Local Government of the Municipality of Odiongan proudly awarded Romblon State University (RSU) for its remarkable achievement of being recognized as one of the top 100 universities in the Philippines. This momentous awarding ceremony took place on the 3rd of July, 2023, at the Odiongan Municipal Hall, where the outstanding leadership of RSU President, Dr. Merian P. Catajay-Mani, was commended.
The forward-thinking University Prexy was honored for her profound excellence in leadership, which was integral in propelling RSU into the ranks of the top universities in the country.
The resolution for recognition was sponsored and authored by Sangguniang Bayan Member, Hon. Manuel F. Fernandez Jr., who acknowledged Romblon State University’s remarkable breakthrough under Dr. Mani’s leadership. Recently, RSU achieved a significant milestone by securing the 84th spot out of 225 universities in the country, as determined by EduRank, an independent metric-based ranking of universities worldwide.
Odiongan Local Government top officials led by Municipal Mayor Trina Fabic-Firmalo, with Vice Mayor Hon. Diven F. Dimaala, and the Sangguniang Bayan Members personally attended the awarding ceremony.
The list of dignitaries present at the commemoration included Hon. Manuel F. Fernandez Jr., Hon. Marvin Al D. Firmalo, Hon. Jackiri M. Fernandez, Hon. Quincy Anne Bantang-Cabrera, Hon. Juvy F. Faderogaya, Hon. Kaila A. Yap, Hon. Joel F. Falogme, Hon. Ricmel S. Falqueza, ABC President, Hon. Arlene V. Fabiculana, and SK Fed. President, Hon. Mike F. Foja.
The RSU Chief Administrative Officer Glenn Niño M. Sartillo and VP for Admin and Finance Dr. Tomas T. Faminial were also in attendance to receive the award.
