March 5, 2026 – The 2nd National Network of Quality Assurance Agencies (NNQAA) Quality Assurance Summit and Conferment Ceremony successfully commenced at The Heritage Hotel Manila, bringing together presidents, vice presidents, deans, quality assurance officers, accreditors, and senior faculty from State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs) across the country.

Themed “Responsible Future: Quality Assurance in Action,” the three-day event (March 5–7, 2026) serves as both a prestigious conferment ceremony and a high-level platform for dialogue on strengthening quality assurance (QA) practices in Philippine higher education.

Organized by NNQAA, Inc., the umbrella organization encompassing the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) and the Association of Local Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (ALCUCOA), the summit formally awarded Certificates of Accreditation to programs and institutions certified during the 2022–2025 period.
Beyond the conferment, the gathering emphasized building sustainable, inclusive, and transformative higher education systems capable of addressing emerging societal needs, workforce demands, and global challenges.

Among the participants were Dr. Merian C. Mani (Prof. Dr. Merian P. Catajay-Mani, Ed.D., CESE), President of Romblon State University (RSU), and Dr. Emelyn F. Montoya, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Sarah Jane Fallaria, Director of the Quality Assurance Office.

Participants engaged in discussions on innovation, digital transformation, internationalization, lifelong learning, micro-credentials, teacher education reforms, artificial intelligence in education, and strategic QA as a tool for institutional resilience amid disruptions and uncertainties.
Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), served as the keynote speaker and delivered an inspiring address centered on the Sustainability Agenda for Philippine Higher Education. In her presentation, Dr. Agrupis emphasized the urgent need to embed sustainable development principles into institutional planning, governance, academic programs, and long-term impact strategies.

The summit concluded with a strong call to action, urging education leaders to translate shared insights into concrete, collaborative steps to ACHIEVE sustained progress, stronger partnerships, and excellence in service.
