The RSU International Relations Office conducted ASEAN Green Voices on September 5, 2026, as part of the RSU ASEAN Month celebration. The activity brought together first-year NSTP students from Indigenous Peoples communities for a meaningful session on Indigenous knowledge, cultural heritage, environmental responsibility, and inclusion, led by Ms. Helen Grace Q. Bantang of NCIP–Odiongan. The initiative strengthened RSU’s commitment to youth engagement, cultural appreciation, sustainability, and ASEAN community-building.
The Romblon State University International Relations Office successfully conducted ASEAN Green Voices: A Celebration of International Youth Day and World Indigenous Peoples Day on September 5, 2026, as part of the RSU ASEAN Month 2026 celebration.
The activity brought together first-year National Service Training Program (NSTP) students from Indigenous Peoples (IP) communities for a meaningful learning session focused on culture, sustainability, environmental responsibility, and social inclusion. It provided an opportunity for students to understand the valuable role of young people and Indigenous communities in protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development.
The discussion was led by Ms. Helen Grace Q. Bantang, a representative from the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP)–Odiongan. She shared important insights on Indigenous knowledge, cultural heritage, traditional practices, and environmental stewardship. She also emphasized the need to strengthen awareness, respect, and inclusion to help preserve the identity and traditions of Indigenous communities.
The session highlighted how Indigenous knowledge and community-based practices can contribute to environmental protection and climate action. It also encouraged students to appreciate cultural diversity, recognize their responsibilities as young people, and become more actively involved in building peaceful, inclusive, and sustainable communities.
