Romblon State University, through the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and Services (OVPSAS) and the Student Development and Services Office (SDSO), successfully conducted its Anti-Hazing Awareness Seminar this Friday, February 13, 2026, held at the Audio-Visual Room.

The event was part of the university's celebration of Anti-Hazing Prevention Week. Commenced with a prayer, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem through an audio-visual presentation. Engr. Kenreid Nuel F. Dela Vega, SDSO Director, delivered both the welcome and closing remarks, emphasizing the importance of understanding the Anti-Hazing Law within student organizations.

Atty. Mario Mariano, Jr., Head of the university's Legal Council, who served as the speaker, discussed Republic Act 11053 or the Anti-Hazing Act of 2018, highlighting its provisions, liabilities, and preventive measures.

The seminar provided valuable insights into maintaining organizations free from violence, which was particularly relevant for the participants, student leaders from various accredited organizations at the RSU-Main Campus.

The session concluded with an open forum where students were allowed to raise questions and sought clarification on specific legal liabilities and organizational responsibilities under the law, with Atty. Mariano providing expert answers.

Servant Leader (SL) John Michael T. Mortel, SSC Public Information Officer, presided over the event as the Master of Ceremony.
